In conjunction with the Warren County Educational Service Center, Crestview Local School District will once again offer preschool for the 2021-2022 school year! The purpose of the preschool is to provide an enriched learning environment in an integrated setting to children, ages 3-5, by August 1.
Located at Crestview Elementary, classes are held Monday-Thursday and follow Crestview LSD calendar. Half-day sessions are offered either in the morning or afternoon. Current preschool enrollment includes up to 32 students in each session and we are continually adding students throughout the school year. Because children learn best through play, preschool learning takes place in a play-based environment. The preschool curriculum is based on the Early Learning Standards for Ohio so that students will be prepared for kindergarten standards. Preschool activities include student-initiated and teacher-initiated activities that focus on the development of pre-academic, fine motor, gross motor, social/emotional, and language skills. There is a weekly focus on letters, colors, shapes, and numbers. The children have regular opportunities to practice drawing simple shapes, writing the letters of their names, and writing the letter of the week. Speech, occupational, and physical therapy services are provided during preschool hours to qualifying students.
